Action 5.1.2 : Recurrence models for low seismicity areas

Technical Issue

Simple double truncated GR model may not be most adequate to describe seismicity

Proposed Approach

  • Study alternative models to truncated GR: models less sensitive to Mmax
  • Assess influence of zones and discretization, develop zones with uniform occurrence rates by classification k-means clustering for French territory
  • Develop composite (hybrid) models distinguishing moderate and high magnitude rates, construct and assess impact of different aggregates for moderate to high magnitudes by simulation (to be confirmed)

Deliverable

New or modified recurrence model & Macrozonation to asses GR parameters (report)
