  • Action 5.2.2 : Develop nocivity filtering methodology

Action 5.2.2 : Develop nocivity filtering methodology

Technical Issue

Focus PSHA on significant events, exclude non damaging earthquakes for risk assessment (PRA)

Proposed Approach

Develop a nocivity filtering methodology that could be used as an alternative to Mmin in the hazard integral

  • Theoretical development based on GMPE and correlation coefficients, and implementation in PSHA (hazard integral)
  • Define pertinent nocivity parameter (CAV or other) and thresholds for filtering, might depend on type of structure

Deliverable

Nocivity filtering methodology (report)
